• Who Gets Invited? Those who submitted the Interest to Sponsor form in 2020 and haven’t yet received an invitation.

👤 Who Can Be a Sponsor?

To be eligible to sponsor your parents or grandparents under this program, you must:

✅ Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a registered Indian under the Indian Act
✅ Be 18 years or older
✅ Be living in Canada at the time of applying
✅ Have submitted the Interest to Sponsor form in 2020
✅ Meet the Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) for the past three years (2022, 2023, 2024)
✅ Sign a 20-year sponsorship undertaking (10 years in Quebec) to financially support your parents/grandparents

📝 Tip: If your income is slightly below the threshold, your spouse or common-law partner can co-sign the undertaking.

💸 Income Requirements – Minimum Necessary Income (MNI)

You must prove that you meet or exceed the required income levels based on your family size.

📊 For a family size of 4 (you + spouse + 2 parents):

• 2024: $70,972
• 2023: $66,466
• 2022: $64,306

📍 MNI increases based on how many people you’re supporting — yourself, dependents, and the parents or grandparents you want to sponsor.

📎 Documents Needed:

• Notice of Assessment (NOA) from CRA for the last 3 years
• Proof of income for each year (T4s, paystubs, etc.)

📬 How Will Invitations Be Sent?

🔔 Invitations will be emailed to randomly selected individuals from the 2020 pool. If you submitted the form that year, keep an eye on your inbox AND spam folder.

📥 If You’re Invited:

• You must apply online via the IRCC Permanent Residence Portal or through a representative.
• You’ll need to submit all required forms, supporting documents, and proof of income within the specified deadline.
